Events & Classes
We invite you to join us for an upcoming event or class. For some classes and events, MTC membership is required.
Meet-up & Special Events
While we're always adding new fun & engaging things to our calendar, our recurring meet-ups happen every month.
During the summer months and winter holiday break, we suspend the recurring meet-ups.
Recurring Meet-ups
- Meet-up at MEL: every Friday 11am - 1pm at the Merida English Library. This is a family-friendly meet-up and is good for guests or first timers.
- Game Night: second Saturday of the month, time and location may vary. Game Nights are interactive and teens are strongly encouraged to participate. If this is an issue, they may consider a different meet-up. Teens only. No parents or younger/adult siblings, please.
- Mall Meet-up: third Tuesday of the month from 5:00pm - 7:00pm. Location and main activity vary. Teens only. No parents or younger/adult siblings, please. We do not supervise the teens as they walk around the mall. We provide a meeting and ending point with an adult on premises.
Annual Events
- Costume Party: Each year the MTC hosts a cosume party that blends the traditions of Halloween and Dia de Muertos. It is a teens-only event.
- Holiday Gathering: The whole family is invited to celebrate and share the spirit of the season. The gatheirng is potluck style and includes a collection of donated gifts for a local organization. It is a great way for families in our community to connect.
- Spring Formal: Think of it as a prom but open to teens 13 - 18. The event includes music, dancing, food, and fun memories made with friends. It is a teens-only event.
- Summer Sendoff: This marks the end of our service year and is typically held in late May or early June. During the event, we host a graduation ceremony for our community members who are homeschooled. This event is open to the whole family.
